Zamanında Halep ve Edirne Kadılıklarında bulunmuş Kadı Bedrettin Şeyhülislam Şemsettin Ahmet Efendinin de babasıdır.Şeyh Çelebi ve Şeyhülislam Şemseddin Ahmet Efendinin babası olan Kadı Bedreddin, Bedrettin Mahmud, Mahmud bin Abdullah, Mevtana Bedreddin Mahmud bin Abdullah adlarıyla da anılmaktadır. Bu zat, bir süre müderrislik yapmış, sonra da sırasıyla Halep ve Edirne Kadılıkları'na atanmıştır. Edirne Kadılığı sırasında, 1530'da vefat etmiştir. Ayşe Kadın Semtinde, Talat Paşa Caddesi üzerindedir. İstanbul yönünden Edirne Merkezine doğru ilerler iken ilk tarihi camidir. Kuzeyinde haziresi vardır.
