Alagöz Headquarters Museum has an important place in Alagöz Village, located in Ankara's Polatlı district. During the Battle of Sakarya during the War of Independence, Alagöz Village was preferred as the headquarters point by the Western Front Command after the enemy forces came to Polatlı. The farmhouse of Türkoğlu Ali Ağa, one of the residents of Alagöz Village of the period, was used as headquarters and decisions regarding the war were made in this house.
With the end of the Sakarya War, the use of this building by Ali Türkoğlu and his children continued until 1965. However, it was donated to the Ministry of National Education by Ali Türkoğlu's descendants in 1965. Thus, restoration work on the farmhouse began, and the original house was not changed. Its restoration was completed by the Anıtkabir Museum Directorate, which operates under the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums.
With the completion of the restoration works of this museum; Documents and objects related to the War of Independence began to be exhibited. Alagöz Headquarters Museum, which has always been open to visitors even after it was turned into a museum, contains many details about the commanders of the period.
Alagöz Headquarters Museum became fully operational on 10 November 1968. However, only the upper floor of this museum is open to visitors as a museum. The rooms on the lower floor were made open to visitors after the renovation in 1983 and became even more comprehensive.
Alagöz Headquarters Museum, which has 12 rooms, is designed as 2 floors. It was built with stone and mud brick materials. Wooden carved decorations can be seen on the ceilings of the interior. The top of the building is covered with tiles. Architecturally, the most striking point is the peacock depiction in the building. This depiction is located on the triangular pediment of the entrance façade. The interior of the rooms has a rectangular design.
In the first years when Alagöz Headquarters Museum was opened, the exhibition area was only on the upper floors. The lower floors were not yet open to visitors. The lower floors were opened to visitors in 1983. Thus, preliminary work was carried out for the works to be exhibited in the lower rooms. With this work, the lower floors were decorated as they were used during wartime. Help was taken from photographs and documents in this decoration. On September 13, 1983, the lower floors became accessible to visitors with their new design and works.

Sakarya meydan muharebesi'nin yönetildiği bina burası, iç kısmında fotoğraf çekmek yasak,çekilebilse çok güzel kareler sunacaktım. Atatürk'ün çalışma odası, kaldığı oda, mutfak, yemek odası hepsi görülebilir. Emeği geçenlerin emeğine sağlık

Tarihimizi yerinde öğrenmek için 1 Ekim cumartesi günü 2022 tarihinde saat 13:00 suları müzeyi ziyaret ettik. Atatürk ve silah arkadaşlarınin ruhu şad olsun. Vatan size minnettardir!
