This museum was first designed on November 13, 1999, and it was aimed to recreate the Bandırma Ferry by remaining faithful to its existing state. The identical version of the Bandırma Ferry, which has been in the Istanbul Maritime Museum since 1960, took its place in this museum and these processes were completed on April 15, 2001; It has also started to be exhibited in the Bandırma Ferry and National Struggle Museum. This museum was officially opened on May 18, 2003. Abdi Güzel stepped in regarding the internal works of the museum. On the other hand, Samsun Municipality also carried out studies on the museum in 2001 and 2002.
